2 HP pump for hydrotherapy and counter-current swimming
The MBS1V00011 centrifugal pump is intended for spa hydrotherapy systems and counter-current swimming equipment. It features a 2 HP / 1.5 kW single-phase motor, single-speed operation and a 230 V, 50 Hz supply.
The pump is supplied with suction and discharge unions for solvent-weld connections to Ø63 mm metric pipework. This configuration allows the hydraulic connections to be made using the included unions.

Dimensions and discharge orientation
The wet end allows the discharge port to be positioned vertically or horizontally. In both configurations, the motor must be installed and secured horizontally.

Connections and supplied components
Both suction and discharge connect to Ø63 mm metric pipework using the included unions for solvent-weld connections. Both connections have the same diameter.
The supplied components include the pump and the suction and discharge unions. Pump selection must consider the flow and pressure required by the hydrotherapy or counter-current swimming equipment, together with the pressure losses in the circuit.
Installation and start-up
- Secure the pump horizontally using its support base, which has two anchoring holes.
- Installation below water level is recommended, in a dry, ventilated location protected from flooding.
- Keep the suction pipe as short as possible, with a 2% slope towards the pump to prevent air pockets.
- Align the pipework with the connections to avoid placing mechanical stress on the pump body.
- Fill and prime the pump before starting. Do not run it dry, as this can damage the mechanical seal.
- Open the circuit valves before starting the pump.
Electrical installation must be carried out by qualified personnel, with an earth connection, residual current protection not exceeding 30 mA and a disconnection system with a contact opening of at least 3 mm. Maintain a minimum distance of 3.5 m from the pool edge and comply with the applicable installation requirements.
Maintenance
Before working on the equipment, disconnect the power supply, prevent the starting devices from operating and wait until the pump has stopped completely. Periodically check the fixings, electrical connections, temperature, vibrations and condition of the sealing components.
Drain the pump using the drain plug if it will remain unused for an extended period or there is a risk of freezing. The motor assembly can be removed from the wet end without disconnecting the suction and discharge pipework.
